Trip to the ER

**I want to start this post with a disclaimer that there are very disgusting pictures of my foot below!**

I had no idea when I woke up Thursday morning what was ahead of me that day.
Brent was home for lunch (thank God!) and the boys were just running around playing. I stepped into the garage to move a few things around and caught my foot on an old mirror. It was bleeding profusely, and I was unable to stop it with lot of pressure, so I had Brent load the boys up and we headed to the ER. My mom and Karen met us there to get the boys so we wouldn't have to take them in.

The ER doctor that I saw is NOT on my good list. Without any kind of numbing medicine, he scrubbed the wound clean and stapled it closed (6 staples!) . I delievered a baby 6 weeks ago with no pain meds, and that was a peice of cake compared to what it felt like while he was cleaning and stapling my wound. I don't know if no lidocaine is the new "thing" or what...but I wouldn't recommend it!

Here is my foot right after he finished working on it (that's antiseptic on my foot, by the way, not blood). Nice, huh?

And here it is today, one day later. I personally feel like the dr did a pretty rushed job of it...but I guess we'll see in about 10 days when I get these staples out. Which I am reeeaally dreading, by the way. Surely it won't be as bad as getting them in. Surely.

EW! They dont hurt so bad coming out. I took 350 of them out of a patient that got run over by a steam roller once. I agree he could have been a bit more cool. Like he could have sutured it so it doesn't scar as bad. You will have a battle scar but the boys will think you are cool. Feel better.
