Sun, Sand, & Surf {Gulf Shores 2013 ~ Part 3}

Our last night in Gulf Shores, we decided to try out the popular LuLu's Seafood! I hear of so many people talking about it, but we've never tried it. We had a great time! It was an hour and a half wait even at 4:30 in the afternoon, but there are TONS of fun things to do while you wait.

I wanted ONE family picture while we were here. Never going to happen. NO ONE will look at the camera.
Or if they do, Brent closes his eyes. Sigh.
The boys' favorite thing to do while we waited was play beanbag toss! They seriously did this for 45 minutes.

Once we were seated, there was a band playing, and the kids just loved it. Great atmosphere.

We came home from LuLu's, and the boys had a late night swim!
Beckett and I were up bright and early again this morning and headed for one last morning on the beach. He wanted his picture with a palm tree. ;)

He made friends with a crane.
And found a starfish!

And this is how he felt about having to go home.

We had such a fun little trip to our very favorite place, and we already can't wait until we are back again! Hopefully we will have a little black headed tot with us next time!

Sun, Sand, & Surf {Gulf Shores 2013 ~Part 2}

Here are just a few of our beach snapshots. I ended up only taking pictures with my phone for the most part. It's just so much more convenient. This is how the beaches looked the whole time. Practically empty. It was a little cool, but it was sure nice to not have to worry about slathering them with sunscreen every hour.

These two had a BALL!
Coffee on the beach every morning was fabulous. So so peaceful. Beckett is my early bird, so he was my morning beach buddy every day. :)
A storm rolling in...

Burying Beck!

My little boogie-boarding dude.
He has fun wherever he goes! Love him!
What?! You want me to stick my hands in that dirt?

Sun, Sand, & Surf {Gulf Shores 2013 ~ Part 1}

I had pretty much accepted the fact that we weren't going to go to the beach this year, but Brent's parents called us Monday morning and invited us to Gulf Shores with them for a few days! We were fortunate to find a place to stay last minute on a holiday weekend, but we loved the area where we stayed. We had a condo on West Beach Blvd in Gulf Shores. It was away from all of the high rises, and there were only beach houses around us - the beaches were never crowded. It was a VERY rainy weekend. In fact, they were reporting that it was the most rain they'd had in years. But we were able to run out to the beach for a couple hours at a time in between storms, and we spent Friday morning at the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. Our condo also had a great pool area and tennis courts that the boys loved!

Headed out bright and early Thursday morning!
Breakfast at Cracker Barrel in Vicksburg!
The view from our balcony.
Collecting shells on the beach!

This was the pool area at our condo - it was great!
Brody and Poppy playing tennis - this was Brody's favorite thing to do! :)
Memaw and Poppy with Beckett and Levi on the dock. Thank you for letting us tag along with you guys!

Our little tennis player!
