NWA

We are in Northwest Arkansas visiting my step-brothers and their families...and having a wonderful time! I have a TON of posts to finish and post - Brody's 3 year post, Beckett's 5 month, Brody's party, etc etc etc. BUT, in the meantime...here are a few pics from this weekend!

Brent , Dad, and I took Brody to a Razorback baseball game Friday afternoon. It was really cold, so we left Beckett with Karen and Tony and Carrie's house.
He fell asleep with about 30 minutes left in the game. Poor little guy just couldn't hang.
Friday night we ate at a yummy Mexican cafe called Mojito's. It was YUMMY!

Beckett and his Uncle Dustin.

Today we all went to a Hog basketball game. They lost, but it was fun fun fun anyway!

Tony and Carrie weren't able to be in ElDo for Brody's birthday, and Karen and Dad will be gone for Karen's birthday next week, so we had a little party for them both here tonight!

We had a DELICIOUS razorback cake from Rick's bakery!! I have to say, it was one of the best cakes I have every had.

We are going to church tomorrow, then heading home!

Hello from snowy south Arkansas!

It is just a couple inches...but it is a winter wonderland to us here in South Arkansas! We only get a good snow (and by good, I mean that it actually sticks) every 3 or 4 years, so it is exciting for us. I feel like a little kid again when it snows. :)

It started snowing right after lunch yesterday and within a few hours we could see it starting to stick some. Brody wanted to go out and play in it immediately, so I put Beckett down for his afternoon nap, and we bundled up and headed out. Brody kept saying he wanted to play soccer in the snow, so that is exactly what we did.

It snowed pretty much all through the day, although it did get lighter as the day went on. When he woke up this morning, I could tell that we had gotten a little more throughout the night. He still wanted to go to his Valentine party at school today, so we got his cards and Valentine snacks ready and headed out! This just before we left for school.

After Brody's party, we are probably going to my Dad's to hopefully get a little playing in before it all melts. I can't wait!

I will leave you with a few pictures I took outside this morning....

Thursday Thoughts

Well, it's almost Thurday. It's 11:45 p.m. I am just sitting on the couch...wide awake. Beckett stayed up until about 11:00 last night, then slept all night (til 6:30) so I guess my body doesn't know what to do with all that "extra" sleep - Ha! So, I thought I would write down some of my thoughts right now...

* Snow - they are calling for us to get a couple inches tomorrow evening into Friday morning. I hope that they are right. It is beautiful and I love to watch it, but more than anything I would love for Brody to get to play in it. He is totally old enough to enjoy it now. In fact, I told my dad tonight that if we get a good snow, I want him to come get us in his 4 wheel drive and bring us to his house so that Brody can play out in the fields like we always did as kids. We would ride on a kneeboard or something pulled behind the 4-wheeler...and it was a blast. And we would build the biggest snowmen ever. It RARELY snows here in south AR, so I want to take full advantage of anything we can get!

* I am soooo happy that I have a few vacations in the works for this year. We didn't do much traveling last year with me being pregnant, and I missed it so much. I love to travel. Whether it be a weekend trip or a week - I am always game. We are going to Destin, FL in May with my dad and Karen and the boys. I just know Brody is going to love the beach this year. And Beckett will be 8 months old! I can't wait to see what he will be like then! Then Brent and I are planning on going on a cruise this fall for our 5 year anniversary, and then we are planning a snowskiing trip to CO with Amie and Eli next winter! So much to look forward to!

* I have GOT to take Beckett to get his 4 month shots. He was a couple weeks behind getting his 2 month ones b/c of a cold, so it is just now time for them. But I don't want to get behind again. But oh how I hate having to do that to him. As a mommy, shots are the worst. :(

* I am excited about going to stay with my step brother and his family in NWA in a few weeks. We are hoping to go to a Razorback basketball game and maybe even a baseball game if the weather permits! Brody loves doing this - any kind of ball game and he is thrilled. Oh, and maybe I can take Brent house hunting while we are there...lol Just kidding.

* (On a completely different note) I have totally stopped breastfeeding Beckett now. And it makes me sad. That was our special time and I really do hate that I couldn't do it longer. Once I went back to work my supply just dropped and I couldn't get it built back up. I think that if I could do it over again, I could make it work. I know what to expect and I know what I would need to do to keep it going. Oh well. I am not going to sweat the small stuff. I am thankful that I was able to do it at least for a little while.

MIA and a boat-load of firsts!

Sorry I have been MIA for a while. After I got the normal results on Beckett's CT scan, I breathed such a huge sigh of relief, put the computer away, and just loved on my boys alot. I have been checking in, but just havn't been on for long periods of time.

We have been super busy trying lots of new things these last few weeks!

Beckett started eating cereal in the mornings . . . more ended up on his face and the bib at first, but he is getting the hang of it now.

He also started playing in his Jumparoo! He is so cute bouncing around in that thing :)

He sometimes doesn't want to stay in it too long, so Brody does his best to entertain him for me. I am so glad Brody has a brother.
Another first - eating in the high chair! He looked so tiny in it. But then again...where did my newborn go??! He isn't too crazy about the box baby cereal that you mix with formula, so I have started buying him the cereal with peaches in a jar. You can tell he likes it so much better.

I am going to introduce plain peaches this week since he has already had them mixed in with his cereal, then we will try sweet potatoes about a week after that.

I am loving getting to feed him. This age is so fun!

Brody serenaded us from the kitchen counter while I fed Beckett. He was singing Go Tell It On The Mountain if I remember correctly.

We also have started letting Beckett play in his Bumbo some, and he is finally enjoying it a little bit. And I stress the word little. He is only happy there if he has toys on his tray, but he accidentally knocks/drops the toys off within seconds of me putting them back on there. Silly boy.

And again, big brother likes to help me out. He will sit and play with him there for a while. I think Brody liked these Linkydoos more than Beckett :)
I have one more first to tell you about...but I don't have a picture to post with it yet, so I will save it for tomorrow...
P.S. Ignore the dates on my pictures. Anytime I change the batteries (which is every couple days in my little point and shoot) you are supposed to reset the date, but I don't always, so it starts back over at January 1. Oops.
