Christmas 2009 (Part II)

Okay, so we finished up at Brent's grandparents, I think. We came home to let Brody take a nap (something that has become a rarity these days...) because we knew that it would be a late night. Thankfully, he fell asleep on the way home and napped for a couple of hours.

Later that evening we headed to my Mamaw and Papaw Webb's. The boys wore their matching outfits that they wore to church on Christmas Sunday (but they wore black cords instead of jeans on Sunday). I thought they looked precious. Brent thinks it is silly for me to dress them alike since they are boys. But I know that I wont be able to do it for long, so I think an occasional matching outfit is okay, right?

Beckett with his PawPaw.
Brody taking a picture of me taking a picture of him :-)

We tried to get a pic of my Dad with both boys, but Brody has just become UNcooperative lately when it comes to pictures. I used to could get the child to pose and smile for any picture that I wanted, but now he wants nothing to do with it. And Beckett, well, I guess you can't expect a 3 month old to smile on cue.

After we ate and visited at the Webb's, we headed to my Mawaw Sharon and Papa's house to visit and play games. We played a version of Family Fued that was hilarious...and so much fun. Definately something that we will be doing again!

Finally, we got back home around 11:00 or so. (And we saw snow flurries as we were driving in! Fun!) We got the boys in bed, and Santa got to work. Ryan and Tara were staying the night with us too, so they helped us set everything up. I think I was in bed by 1:00 or so. Wouldn't have been too bad except Beckett was up to eat around 3:00, then he was up for good around 6:00. We played on the couch for a while, waiting for everyone else to get up.

Finally, around 7:30, I heard Brody calling me, so Beckett and I got him and Daddy, and headed into the living room to see what Santa brought. Brody was excited, but a little nervous, I think. I don't know if he was expecting Santa to be perched on the couch or what...

He first went to his animated dinosaur and Chuck the Talking Truck....

Then his golf clubs

And his soccer net and Geotrax train set...

He LOVED his golf bag, and wanted to carry it around all morning.

This is what Beckett did through most of the Santa hoop-lah:

Santa also brought them matching shirts (Sorry Brent)

Later that morning Mom, Cliff and Brooke came over for breakfast. Brent made a breakfast casserole and cinnamon rolls. It was yum.
Brody opened his guitar.

And Lincoln Logs!

For lunch, we went to my dad and Karen's. Brody got this cute apron since he loves helping in the kitchen so much ;)

Beckett hung out with my Papaw while we doted over Brody opening all of his presents.

This KidJamz music/DJ station thingie was one of Brody's favorite. That, his guitar, and bicycle were top 3 I would have to say. But he loved EVERYTHING, and got waaay too much.

We had an amazing Christmas this year. God has blessed me so much. I tried to spend every moment enjoying Christmas through the eyes of my babies. There just is nothing like watching their joy and happiness. They are two very special little boys who are loved so much!

I will end with a couple of pictures of Beckett in his new walker. How cute is this?! He isn't quite big enough for it yet, but we just had to try it out.

Christmas 2009 (Part I)

We have already made 2 of the many stops on our Christmas tour this year, and we are home for naps, so I thought I would get started on a Christmas post before I got too far behind.

We were to be at Brent's mom and dad's for Christmas Eve breakfast this morning (a new tradition for us, but one that we think we will keep around for a while!) around 8:30.

Both boys slept great and woke up in wonderful moods. Always a plus. You never know with these two :)

Here they are watching cartoons for a bit while I gathered together a few last minute things.

After breakfast, it was present time!! I was so proud of Brody and how patiently he ate and waited until it was time. Such a sweet boy.

A wallet! (It was awesome to watch his face this year, by the way. Pure joy.)

And the backpack to match!!

And a DVD player for his room...

And just when he thought he was all done...Poppy brought out a Spiderman bicycle!!

He hasn't quite mastered the peddling part. He will go along great for a couple seconds, then suddenly slam on the brakes...it's too funny.

Beckett slept through most of the fun. He did get a walker and a new toy. Didn't get pics of those though. Bad mommy.

Then we headed to Brent's grandparents, Nonna and Paw.

Four generations: Brent's Paw, his dad, Brent, and the boys. (Ignore the lovely Cars pj pants that my child is wearing...his jeans got a little wet and were in the dryer at this time...lol)

All of the great grandchildren: Brody, Bryce, Beckett, Madison, Jalyn, Gunner, Emma, and Chase)

We have two more stops to make tonight, so I will try to have another post up before I hit the sack tonight! Merry Christmas Eve everyone!!

Just for fun :)

Here are some comparison pics from all three months...I can definately tell he has changed!!

One Month

Two Months

Three Months

3 Months

Beckett - you are THREE months old today!!

What are you up to these days??

*You weigh 14lbs 11oz and are about 24 inches long

*You wear a size 2 diaper and are starting to outgrow your 0-3 month clothes. I am putting some 3-6 month on you now.

*You are mostly formula fed during the day now (We are still trying Parent's Choice Sensitive, but you are spitting up alot, so who knows...). You take 5 oz about every 3 hours when Mommy is at work, but you will go alot longer between bottles when you are at home b/c you still nurse alot in between. If you wake up during the night, you nurse instead of taking a bottle. I started giving you a tablespoon or so of rice cereal in your bedtime bottle, but it seemed to plug you up a little, so we have stopped that for now. Will try again at about 4 months.

*You still take about 2 good long naps during the day (still no set schedule yet) and cat nap alot, too. We will probably work on getting you on more of a schedule in the next couple months.

*You sleep from about 10pm til around 5am (most of the time). I usually put you in the bed beside me at that point, let you eat, and we both snooze a little bit longer. I finally took you out of your swing at night, and you now sleep on your tummy in the packnplay right beside my bed. I am glad we finally did it...I think it will make the transition to your crib in your room much easier...although I don't want to do that anytime soon :)
*You still have cradle cap - I am using baby oil and Head and Shoulders shampoo to try and keep it to a minimum.
*You smile ALL THE TIME now, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE. And you are starting to laugh out loud too. Not so much of a laugh as a cute little squeal. I could just eat you up.

*You got your first set of shots at about 10 weeks, and you did great. You cried while they were giving them, but stopped just seconds after. You didn't run any fever and never even really acted like your legs hurt you. I hope they are all that easy!
*You are staying the church nursery now rather than going into big church with Mommy. They say you do wonderful and just sleep most of the time. I still haven't gotten brave enough to leave you for Sunday School too, so we usually just come for church. Maybe soon though....

*You are soooo happy in the mornings. It is by far your favorite time of the day. You wake up just smiling and cooing. I love it so much.
*You aren't rolling yet, but you push yourself up and hold your head up great while laying on your belly. I bet it won't be long.

Happy 3 months baby boy! You are growing waaay too fast!

2 Months

I never did a 2 month post for Beckett, so I am going to go ahead and do it now...while I can still remember what he was doing a month ago....(So lets just pretend like this was posted last month...hehe)

BECKETT - You are TWO months old!

What are you up to these days??

*You weigh 12lbs 8 oz and are about 23 inches long

*You moved up to a size 2 diaper (chunky thighs!) and wear 0-3 month clothes

*You still nurse when you are home with Mommy (about every 3 hours), but you take formula while Mommy is at work. We started out with Gentlease, then tried Enfamil Lipil, and are now on Parent's Choice Sensitive...you seem to have tummy troubles just like your big brother...

*You usually take a good morning nap and a good afternoon nap (no set times yet) and then just catnap in between.

*You usually go down for the night around 10-11pm, and wake up once. Usually sometime around 3 or 4.

*You are beginning to tolerate you carseat much better...it usually puts you right to sleep

*Your baby acne has cleared up...but you now have horrible cradle cap. Mommy hates seeing your poor little skin so dry and scaly :(

*We can catch a big grin every now and then, and you are starting to coo some

*You like your paci and your bath now - Yipee!

*You move CONSTANTLY - your little arms and legs never stop moving, especially when we have you lying on a blanket on the floor. We joke that you are going to be a runner like your daddy ;)

Love you buddy! I can't wait to see what the next month has in store for you!

Lotsa' Babes!

Beckett and I went to Alicia's for a quick little visit this week. Alicia has a 4 week old little girl, Karly. Cassie and her little boy Kasen (who is one week older than Beckett) met us too. We left the big kids at home and just had a nice relaxing visit with just us and the babes.

I just had to take a pic of B on all of this pink bedding...just for his daddy...lol.

The three babies meet for the first time! It doesn't look like Karly liked being stuck between those two boys!

Our little Christmas babies :)

I didn't realize how chunky B was until this weekend...
