A Halloween package

Brody and Beckett got a halloween package in the mail at Mimi and Pawpaw's! Uncle Tony and Aunt Carrie sent them monogrammed pumpkins!!

Brody's pumpkin was filled (and I mean FILLED) with candy and fun surprises :)

One of the surprises was a Razorback nose, which he LOVED!

Beckett's pumpkin had the cutest little Razorback onesie in it!! It says Woo Pig Sooie. We can't wait until he can wear it!!

Here is Brody in the big pile of candy

Thank you Uncle Tony and Aunt Carrie!!!! They LOVE their pumpkins!

A SPOOKtacular Party!

Today was Brody's halloween party at school. The parent's are always invited to come for the party, so Beckett and I ventured out for the fun! Brody was sooo proud to have his brother at his school. As soon as I walked in, he ran over to the infant seat, kissed Beckett's little foot, and announced to all his friends, "This is my baby brother." It was precious.

Brody wore his costume to school, but got too hot in it and wouldn't put it back on for the party. The little toot. But don't worry, I will have plenty of pictures of him in it tomorrow.

This is Brody's teacher Mrs. Barbara. She held Beckett the whole time, so I could play with Brody. She worked in the baby room at the school for years before moving into the 2-3 year old room this year. (I think she misses it a little bit.)

Isn't he just a cutie-patootie??? I love those big eyes!

And this is Brody's other teacher Mrs. Paula, and his friend Carson. He loves his teachers and his school so much!!

Showing me his spider ring ;)

And the bat painted on his face!
He was sooo sleepy by the end of the party.
And this is him playing at home a few nights ago. He got these "bubba" teeth, or whatever they are called, in a favor bag at a birthday party a few weeks ago. He thought halloween would be the perfect time to pull them out. Gross, huh.

And this is just a little bit of sweetness I though I would share. I love these boys to peices.

Soaring Wings Half-Marathon

Brent ran in the Soaring Wings Half-Marathon this weekend in Conway with some guys from church. I debated back and forth for weeks about whether I should go and take the boys or stay home with them. In the end, we left Beckett at home with my mother, and Brent and I took Brody with us to Conway. I couldn't believe that I agreed to leave my baby at home, but it just made the most sense. It was supposed to be really cold the morning of the race, so I would have just had to stay at the hotel room with him, which would have defeated the whole purpose of going in the first place. We also agreed that Brody needed a little one-on-one attention from us, something that he hasn't gotten much of lately. Besides, we were only going to be gone for 24 hours. So, I bit the bullet and did it. And I am so glad that I did. Brody had a blast, and my mom got some awesome bonding time with our new little guy.

Here is Brody on the drive up. He was so excited about getting to stay in a hotel again.

We ate at Marketplace with Jay and Elizabeth Friday night, did a little shopping at Target, then headed to the room to turn in for the night. And boyyyy did I sleep good?!! I didn't realize how badly I needed a full nights sleep until my head hit that pillow.

Brody and I met Elizabeth in the hotel lobby around 7 that morning, ate breakfast, then headed to the race.

It was reeaaally cold that morning, so we were all bundled up.

I sure did enjoy getting to spend some quality time with this little man.

Brody wishing Daddy good luck

Brent and Jay

And they are off!!! Brent isn't actually in this picture. You can see our friend Adam waving in the green shirt. And Mark is beside him in white.

After they started, we drove around some and we were able to see them run through at the 4.5 mile mark and the 9 mile mark, then the finish. Here is Elizabeth and Brody waiting at the 4.5.

I look totally washed out in this picture.

Brody waiting at the finish line.

He was having SO much fun

Mark about to cross the finish line...

And Jay...

And Brent!

Crossing the finish!! He actually finished in about 2:23. They start in waves b/c there were so many people, so this clock was set with the first group that started.

I think his face here pretty much says how he felt right after....Ha!

We went back to the hotel to let the guys clean up, then we went out to eat at Coltons.

Then we headed back home!! We had a great time, and I am very proud of Brent for running his first half-marathon! He did great. But I was ever-so-happy to get back home to Beckett!!

ONE MONTH

Beckett - You are ONE month old today!!

What are you up to these days?

*You weigh a little under 10 lbs and are about 22 inches long

*You wear a size 1 diaper

*You are starting to outgrow your newborn clothes and can fit into some of your 0-3 month

*You still nurse every 2-3 hours, and take a couple ounces of formula (Gentlease) at night

*You nap pretty good during the day, as long as you are swaddled or laying on your tummy
*You are doing pretty well at night, sleeping 3-4 hour stretches most nights
*You sleep in your swing at night, right beside our bed...A habit that we need to break soon...lol
*You aren't crazy about bathtime, but I love it, so I am hoping that you get used to it!

*You have a bad case of baby acne that I hope clears up quickly, although it doesn't seem to bother you

*You love to be held, and you also like being carried in the sling. Usually puts you right to sleep.
*You are starting to stay awake and alert more and more during the day. You have also begun to take notice of your big brother. You will stare at him for the longest time if he is talking or singing to you. He loves you SO much!
*You like your paci okay. You will suck on it for a little while when you are fussy, but you aren't in love with it by any means. And if you get too mad, the paci just makes it worse!

We love you to peices little man!! You bring us more joy than we could have ever imagined. I can't believe that it has already been a month since you joined our little family. I look forward to watching you grow and can only imagine all the happiness that you and your brother will bring to me!
