Pics from the week

Happy Friday everyone! It is a stormy, yucky day here in El Dorado. Brooke is here spending the day with us and she is curled up on the couch watching Little Mermaid, and Brody is napping, so I thought this would be a good time to post a blog and some pictures from the week.

Brooke actually come over yesterday and stayed the night so that Mom and Cliff could go to the Point of Grace/Selah concert that was here in ElDo last night. We went over to Dad and Karen's for dinner, and rode 4 wheelers for a while (sorry, no pics of the 4 wheeler ride).

Here is Brooke and Brody in the car taking their sippys. Brody just loves having Brooke over. He tries to do everything that she does, and I think that he aggrivates the heck out of her sometimes, but she loves him all the same.

Ryan and Brooke eating their spaghetti at Dad and Karen's.

Noni and Brooke gave Brody this little singing/dancing/clucking chicken for Easter. We thought he would love it, but it scares the bajeebies out of him for some reason. He pokes his little lip out and runs to bury his head in my lap everytime that chicken starts clucking. So, today, Brooke discovered that if she dances around and acts silly while the chicken is dancing, Brody LOVES it. Here she is breaking it down with the Easter Chicken
We went out to eat for Brent's Dad's (Poppy) birthday on Tuesday night at AppleBees. I was trying to get a picture of the 3 of them and this is the best I could come up with. I think it would be a really sweet picture with them looking at him, but what is that look on my childs face?? I would love to know what he was thinking here.....He looks a little scary in my opinion :)
Playing outside yesterday:

I love this pic of the two of them.....

Rather than ride in his little red roadster, he likes to push it now. Everywhere we go in the yard, he pushes that car. I am sure you can see it in nearly every picture of him outside. It is never far away......

The weather here is officially crazy. It has been warming up to the 80's during the day, but when I have to take Brody out in the mornings to meet Karen, it is like 40!! I just thought he looked silly as we were heading out the door, so I had to snap a picture. He has on his short sleeved PJs, with a jacket, hat, and fuzzy boots. But in his bag was a pair of shorts, a tshirt, and sandals........

Random Pics from the day

Here are a few pics from our Sunday. We went to church this morning, and Brody did great as usual. We rarely have to take this kid out of church - we are so lucky to have such a well-behaved little boy! After church we ate at Mamaw Agnes', came home and played, took a nap, then back to church. Nothing too eventful, but I wanted to share some pictures all the same. Maybe we will have something more blogworthy to post about this week!

Eating dinner (A "healthy" McDonalds happy meal):

He is so sweet when he sleeps. And he has started going to sleep on his own, without a bottle or anything! Makes me a little sad, b/c he is such a big boy now!
Brody loves to stand on the step while Brent takes his bath in the mornings. He plays with his ducks, splashes in the water, and practically soaks everything around him. (Sorry about the legs in this pic. I debated posting this one, but hey, they are just legs.)

A party and a silly boy

We went to my cousin Christian's 8th Bday party today. It was at our church playground, and the kiddos had a blast. Even if it was only like 55 degrees and us moms nearly froze. Kids never seem to notice the weather do they?? Anyway, my camera batteries died after I only took 3 pics so there are no pics of the birthday boy - just a few of Brody.

He loved playing in the sandbox, and considering it rained last night, he was quite the little mess to clean up afterward. Oh well! Thats what parties are all about right? He loved digging in the sand with his little scoop and shovel, and to my surprise, he only got one tiny mouthful! This made me really excited about our trip to the beach in June. I think Brody will really enjoy it this year. I just love this age - he is so much fun!!

Shaggy helping Brody down the big ship slide. He will actually do this all by himself, but it makes me so nervous I won't let him. I always make someone hold onto him, and he looks at me like, "Mom. This is embarrasing. I am 1 now - not a baby."

Now here is my silly boy. Brent was watching the Red/White Razorback game on TV today, and you can tell that this child is from Arkansas. Own his own now, he throws his hands in the air and says, "Whoooooooo". He never makes it to the Pig Sooie part, but hey, we are working on it. In the next 2 pics you can see his little lips doing the "Whoooo" part. Don't ya just wanna smooch them???

Look at those shiny chompers!!

Brody's absolute favorite place to be is outside. He can have a hayday with a leaf and a rock. No toys required. So, on rainy dreary days like today, when we can't go out and play, this is where I find my boy quite often - daydreaming about all the fun he has in the great outdoors.

Crayons and Carseats

Brody and I went to Fayetteville with Mimi and Paw this weekend. Our main purpose of the trip was to get Brody's 1 year pics made with this really good photographer there. He did awesome, and I cannot wait to get the proofs back. I will post them as soon as I can! But, while we were there, we mananged to squeeze in a little (okay, a lot) of much-needed shopping. I got lots of summer things for myself, but even more for the little man. Why do I always do that?? He has a closet full of summer clothes of every shape, size, and color; he even has a section for this fall!! I have decided it is just more fun to shop for babies - I guess that happens when you have kids....

Anyway, I have a few pics from the trip to share. I noticed when we got home that most of them are either in his carseat or in the highchair at dinner, for some reason. I guess that is the only time I can get the booger still enough to snap a picture.

This is what he does to entertain himself while we are waiting on our food to arrive. He has finally discovered that crayons not only taste yummy, but are fun to color with too!!

His most favotite toy in the world - A BALL!!!!!
Soccer player in the making!!

Paw and Brody - Monkey See Monkey Do

More yummy crayons!!

Up and Running!

I know I havn't updated this blog in forever - things have been a little crazy around here. Brody is walking now - well, practically running! He pretty much refuses to crawl anywhere, and can bend down and stand back up like a pro. I cannot believe how big he has gotten. His vocabulary has grown by leaps and bounds also. His newest big thing is "Uh-oh", although it comes out "Uh-ew"- he says this anytime he drops anything, throws anything, or gets caught with something he isn't supposed to have. He also has learned the word "baby". Whenever he gets in trouble he points at himself and says "BABY", very mater-of-factly. Like, I'm just a baby, why am I getting in trouble?

Anyway, I included a few pics. These first couple are from Easter Sunday at church:

I just love his little grin in this pic. (Sorry about the hairy legs......)

The next couple are from a weekend trip to Hot Springs. I had a dental meeting there, and Mom and Brooke came with me so I wouldn't have to leave Brody. She stayed with them while I was at my meetings during the day.

Breckenridge

We made it home from Breckenridge with all of our limbs intact! Our trip was absolutely wonderful! The weather was perfect for skiing - highs in the 30's with fresh powder every morning. Even up to a foot or more some mornings! Brody loved the fluffy white stuff, and he even made it through the trip without getting a cold - which is rare for this kid, especially in cold weather. Maybe it's those magic tubes?? He did awesome on the planes again, entertaining everyone around us. And he is quite the little chatter now. He will repeat almost any word that you say. He still isnt walking, but I see it coming any day now. He walks with ease holding on to just one of my fingers, and stands alone alot more, so I am just looking for him to take off! However, everyone else seems to be in more of a hurry for him to walk than me. He is much easier to chase around when he is on all fours!

Anyway, here are a few pics from Colorado:

Aunt Tara, Brody, and I hanging out on the couch before bed.
Brody and I even got to meet up with 3 of the girls from the pregnancy board that we met in St. Louis! Brody loved seeing Taylor, Sophie, and Aidan again.......and us mom's enjoyed the shopping!

At the Aquarium in Denver - Brody and Paw hanging out in a fish tank.
Our condos!
Brody playing Wii - which he thought was quite fun!

Eating at Bubba Gumps Shrimp Co. - YUUUMMM!!!
Pooped out after a hard day of playing in the snow......
