This and That

It's late and I am tired, so I am not going to do alot of writing here, but I though I would share a few pictures.

Beckett has really started smiling alot in the last few weeks. I could just eat him up. This pic isn't of a very big smile, but I just love his little grin :)

I started back to work a couple weeks ago. I was dreading it, but it really is going ok. It wasn't as hard to leave this time as it was with Brody. Maybe because I knew more of what to expect or maybe because life at home is a little crazier and I welcome the break a tiny bit. Who knows. Either way, we are adjusting just fine. I miss them both like crazy, but I know they are in good hands, so things are going well. And it's just 3 days a week...I can't complain. This is my first morning back to work.

I just think this is funny. Beckett loves to ride around in the little frontpack carrier, but he usually falls asleep. Well, when I would take him out to lay him down, he would always wake up. So, I have started just unsnapping it from my shoulders and laying him down still in the pack. He will stay asleep that way. Whatever works right?

We were headed to the Warrens for the evening and I thought they just looked so cute. Aren't these boys just adorable?

Mom and Brooke were over one evening and decided they wanted to nap with Beckett. They weren't quite asleep yet in this picture, hence the grins on their faces, but I thought it was sweet anyway.

Beckett grinning at his Pawpaw

I survived my first shopping trip with both boys this weekend. Amie and I went to Texarkana shopping. I pushed them around in the double stroller, and they did just great. This thing seemed so huge to me! But it was definately handy!

My precious big boy :)

Mommy's view from above while carrying him in the pack....

I took a picture of Beckett today, and it reminded me of one I have of Brody. I can really see some similarities, although most of the time I don't think they look alike.
Beckett today (at 8 weeks) ....

And Brody at about 12 weeks.....

Beckett's baby dedication is this Sunday at church, so I hope to get some pictures of that on here soon!

For you mom!!

Mom is out of town, so Brody and I went to Brooke's very first awards assembly at her school this morning. I told mom I would post the pics so she could see them today! So, here you go mom!

This is where Brody spotted Brooke and made a mad dash for her nearly knocking her over...lol. I had to pry his little arms off of her neck so that we could go sit back down.

This is her Citizenship Award...

And here she is receiving the Principal's Award for all A's!! Good job Brooke!

And here are a couple pics from our day :)

Brody had this pitcher out in the yard today, and when I asked him what he was doing he said he was trying to catch some of the leaves that were falling from the sky!

Look at the belly that this little one is getting :-)

Hope you guys are having fun in Houston!!!!!

A Halloween package

Brody and Beckett got a halloween package in the mail at Mimi and Pawpaw's! Uncle Tony and Aunt Carrie sent them monogrammed pumpkins!!

Brody's pumpkin was filled (and I mean FILLED) with candy and fun surprises :)

One of the surprises was a Razorback nose, which he LOVED!

Beckett's pumpkin had the cutest little Razorback onesie in it!! It says Woo Pig Sooie. We can't wait until he can wear it!!

Here is Brody in the big pile of candy

Thank you Uncle Tony and Aunt Carrie!!!! They LOVE their pumpkins!

A SPOOKtacular Party!

Today was Brody's halloween party at school. The parent's are always invited to come for the party, so Beckett and I ventured out for the fun! Brody was sooo proud to have his brother at his school. As soon as I walked in, he ran over to the infant seat, kissed Beckett's little foot, and announced to all his friends, "This is my baby brother." It was precious.

Brody wore his costume to school, but got too hot in it and wouldn't put it back on for the party. The little toot. But don't worry, I will have plenty of pictures of him in it tomorrow.

This is Brody's teacher Mrs. Barbara. She held Beckett the whole time, so I could play with Brody. She worked in the baby room at the school for years before moving into the 2-3 year old room this year. (I think she misses it a little bit.)

Isn't he just a cutie-patootie??? I love those big eyes!

And this is Brody's other teacher Mrs. Paula, and his friend Carson. He loves his teachers and his school so much!!

Showing me his spider ring ;)

And the bat painted on his face!
He was sooo sleepy by the end of the party.
And this is him playing at home a few nights ago. He got these "bubba" teeth, or whatever they are called, in a favor bag at a birthday party a few weeks ago. He thought halloween would be the perfect time to pull them out. Gross, huh.

And this is just a little bit of sweetness I though I would share. I love these boys to peices.

Soaring Wings Half-Marathon

Brent ran in the Soaring Wings Half-Marathon this weekend in Conway with some guys from church. I debated back and forth for weeks about whether I should go and take the boys or stay home with them. In the end, we left Beckett at home with my mother, and Brent and I took Brody with us to Conway. I couldn't believe that I agreed to leave my baby at home, but it just made the most sense. It was supposed to be really cold the morning of the race, so I would have just had to stay at the hotel room with him, which would have defeated the whole purpose of going in the first place. We also agreed that Brody needed a little one-on-one attention from us, something that he hasn't gotten much of lately. Besides, we were only going to be gone for 24 hours. So, I bit the bullet and did it. And I am so glad that I did. Brody had a blast, and my mom got some awesome bonding time with our new little guy.

Here is Brody on the drive up. He was so excited about getting to stay in a hotel again.

We ate at Marketplace with Jay and Elizabeth Friday night, did a little shopping at Target, then headed to the room to turn in for the night. And boyyyy did I sleep good?!! I didn't realize how badly I needed a full nights sleep until my head hit that pillow.

Brody and I met Elizabeth in the hotel lobby around 7 that morning, ate breakfast, then headed to the race.

It was reeaaally cold that morning, so we were all bundled up.

I sure did enjoy getting to spend some quality time with this little man.

Brody wishing Daddy good luck

Brent and Jay

And they are off!!! Brent isn't actually in this picture. You can see our friend Adam waving in the green shirt. And Mark is beside him in white.

After they started, we drove around some and we were able to see them run through at the 4.5 mile mark and the 9 mile mark, then the finish. Here is Elizabeth and Brody waiting at the 4.5.

I look totally washed out in this picture.

Brody waiting at the finish line.

He was having SO much fun

Mark about to cross the finish line...

And Jay...

And Brent!

Crossing the finish!! He actually finished in about 2:23. They start in waves b/c there were so many people, so this clock was set with the first group that started.

I think his face here pretty much says how he felt right after....Ha!

We went back to the hotel to let the guys clean up, then we went out to eat at Coltons.

Then we headed back home!! We had a great time, and I am very proud of Brent for running his first half-marathon! He did great. But I was ever-so-happy to get back home to Beckett!!
